Motorola has been making phones for years and is quite a name in the market. Its mid-range phones did quite well with exceptional features at budget-friendly prices. However, to emerge as a leading company it needed a unique start. So, here it is with Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge+! Undoubtedly, the phones are gonna be the brand’s flagship after years. “Fastest, loudest, boldest“, as the company describes them.

Let’s look at what the phone have to offer.

Motorola Edge+

Well, as the name suggests, edges are the main attraction of the phone as they extend past the screen. The Edge+ has been designed in a way that it tends to give competition to OnePlus and Apple phones. We might see many releases supporting 5G in 2020 and the Edge+ is one of them. With powerful specs and awesome built, the phone is available in 2 colors i.e. Smoky Sangria and Thunder Grey.

Pros

1.The 5-G support with both the sub-6 and milimeter wave upto 5 gigabits per second, makes the phone fastest ever, as per the company’s claims.

2. Edges of the phone are quite attractive that glow when a notification displays. The glow can be turned off for certain notifications from settings. Also the edge display can be turned on or off by tapping the edges. Also, these edges can be used for gaming purposes as a shoulder button. All in all, it is simply impressive edge work, providing leading-edge to the phone.

3. The 108-megapixel rear camera is something to boast about. It allows you to click high definition photos and record 6k videos. 8MP 3X zoom telephoto lens allows you to zoom and click pictures from far away.

4. 90-hertz refresh rate that can be changed to 60 hertz when required. This defines how super smooth everything looks.

5. Stereo Speakers lets your heart indulge you completely into music.

6. Now comes the advantage of wireless charging at 15 watts along with allowing you to charge other devices wirelessly from it. That is something!

Cons

1.FHD+ panel is not considered as a competitive option since other brands use ultra high resolution display.

2. It is costlier than any other Moto Series that tends to shift its customer base from middle class to upper class. It might cost somewhere around Rs 76,500.

3. The phone might hit the market when countries are in deep face of recession which might affect its sales.

Motorola Edge

The Edge can be considered as a younger sibling of Edge+ with almost the same features to offer but with lesser power. The phone will be available in Solar Black and Midnight Magenta colours. Check out the specifications below to spot the differences between the 2 phones.

Battery4500 mAh

Clearly, there are subtle differences between the 2 models with Edge+ being a better competition. The Moto Edge comes with a disadvantage of lesser storage, just fine camera capabilities, and Snapdragon 765 processor. It does not support wireless charging as well. Although 5G, it only supports sub-6 not the millimeter-wave which does not make it as fast as Edge+. These specifications do not make it a bad phone but phones with similar specifications are available for lesser prices and paying Rs. 57,900 does not seem value for money. By all means, Edge+ is a better choice.

With all that said, we really need to wait for the verdict given after the phones’ release. It would be interesting to see if the phones will be able to stand against established giants with their unique features.
