The best relationships are molded through friendship. Thus Facebook has created a new apparatus to help ignite those types of maneuver.
Unlike, the dating apps such as Tinder and Bumble, Facebook proclaimed that it was working on a dating app, last year. This action will lead to an increase in its revenue with the increase in the demand of the app.
Thus, on Tuesday the company launched a new feature for Facebook Dating – ‘Secret Crush’. Users have to create a new profile for dating distinct from the Facebook profile. The profile will consist of your first name, age, and GPS-verified location.
Contrary to the other dating apps there is no swiping, instead, you can scroll through and tap “interested” or “pass” on dating profiles. You can even limit your friend suggestions by selecting your interests. Facebook will then show you a list of friends who share your common interests. You can then interact with the person and can even catch up in real life.
The Facebook’s Dating attendant “Secret Crush” enables the users to choose up to nine Facebook friends they have a crush on. Your friends will come to know that you have a crush on them, only when both of you are enrolled in the dating app and list each other as a Secret Crush. You and your friend will get a notification that Its a match! Or else your crush remains a secret.
If your secret love is not enrolled in the Facebook dating app, still you can list them. As people may even sign up with curiosity to see who has listed them as a crush.
This app is available to Facebook users in 19 countries consisting of Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Thailand. So far no ads or paid features have been updated in the Facebook Dating feature. And the question regarding monetization of the project still remains.
Fidji Simo, the head of the Facebook app exclaimed in an interview that “some users have already got engaged or married with the help of this dating service. This Facebook feature of Facebook dating will be rolling out to other countries very soon.”
