After launching the Aqua S7 and Aqua HD, Intex, the Indian Smartphone maker, has now launched a new entry to strengthen its portfolio. Intex, in an official event on 1st October,2016, has introduced its new 4G enabled smartphone called ‘Intex Aqua Raze II’ which has joined its Aqua series with an affordable price. It is the upgraded version of ‘Intex Aqua Raze’ smartphone which was launched earlier this year and was priced at INR 5,199.
DISPLAY AND DIMENSIONS
Intex Aqua Raze II features a 4.5 inch FWVGA (11.43 cm) vivid display screen. Also, it supports 2 Finger Touch, 16.7 Million colors and 70% screen-to-body ratio. It has a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels that provides 218 pixels per inch (PPI) of pixel density.
Measuring 137.00 x 68.00 x 9.50 (height x width x thickness), it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow while its previous model runs on Android Lollipop only. It has a net weight of 128.4 grams.
DESIGN AND SPECIFICATIONS
Intex has taken in care its tagline that says ‘Feel the Craze’ and has come up with Aqua Raze II whose difference in software, chip-set, battery, dimensions and design makes it pretty unique in the market.
Priced at INR 4,990, the smartphone is available in Dark Blue, White and Champagne color variants. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM.
It is a dual-SIM phone and has an internal memory storage of 8GB which includes the space taken by the Operating System and apps and this memory is expandable up to 32GB via a micro-SD card. Some pre-installed apps include YouTube, File Manager, Flashlight, Auto Call Record etc. Other features like emergency rescue and cast screen are also available. Other than dual-SIM, it supports 4G VoLTE, HSDPA+ / HSUPA, GPS/AGPS, FM Radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB port and Bluetooth v4.0.
The device is backed by a non-removable battery of 1750mAh which the company claims to deliver a talk time of 5-6 hours and a standby time of 220 – 250 hours.
As far as the camera is concerned, the Aqua Raze II comes with a 5MP of rear camera with Quanhetian Lens. It has 2560 x 1920 pixel size, LED flash, 4:3 aspect ratio and ST55A sensor which helps in taking the perfect shot always. At the front, it has a 2MP camera with a Huaxin Lens, 1616 x 1232 pixel size, GC2365 sensor and 16:9 aspect ratio for better selfies and video chat with friends. The other camera features include Panorama, GIF, click images with volume button, slow motion videos, recording videos with a front & rear camera with a quality of 720p at 30 frames per second, gravity sensor, light sensor, and proximity sensor.
As far as Intex Aqua Raze II is concerned, some features which the phone offers are pretty impressive taking into account its price. However, Intex has not thought much about the difference in the features they are providing in this single phone. For instance, they are providing Android 6.0 Marshmallow while they provide a RAM of 1GB only. One major problem of the phone is its battery. Providing 1750mAh of non-removable battery with a phone that uses 4G is senseless. The battery discharges really fast and for continuous use, it lasts not more than 5-6 hrs.
Overall, it seems as if Intex has gathered whatever they can and has come up with a phone without much thinking. On the brighter side, the features it provides are good enough for the price at which it is priced. So, the device can prove to be a good phone for people who are in need of a phone with this budget.
